As a child, Winter lived on the streets of the city of Waterdeep, and was eventually taken in by a thieves’ guild called the Bluecloaks. He quickly rose through their ranks and in a fit of jealousy over being the supposed favorite of the guild’s leader, the guild’s second in command took Winter on a job and tried to kill him. Winter survived, but was left for dead in an old temple. An eldritch entity imprisoned in the temple reached out to him with a deal: its freedom for his survival. How could he say no? After accepting the deal and getting his revenge on his would-be murderer, Winter took up as the Blues’ second in command, where he has remained ever since. (Full info.)

CRAU INFO: Winter has come from a quaint little stay-when-you-want, leave-when-you-want space hotel called Hotel Caelum. While nothing happening in the game has changed him significantly as a person, he did learn a fair bit about technology while he was there. (He knows how to text, don’t make him learn again.) He also became very close to and involved with a vampire by the name of Astarion, who will be making the journey here with him.

SUITABILITY: Winter is a man who brings a lot to the table on any team, not least of which being that he is used to being on a team. As someone who holds a very high position in a guild, he is used to working within an organization, delegating, planning, organizing, and cooperating. He is extremely street smart, observant, and quite the pragmatist, used to rolling with the punches and adjusting on the fly.

For more tangible abilities, Winter can hold his own on the front lines for combat. The spells in his arsenal are not highly damaging, though they’ll get him by and provide plenty of utility such as binding or confusing enemies, but where they really shine is helping to augment his already natural abilities for deception and espionage. He can change his appearance, walk in the dreams of others, understand multiple languages, and so much more. When dealing with a more human element, especially if a delicate touch is needed, his silver tongue makes him indispensable.

Additionally, Winter is not afraid to do what has to be done. He can read a situation well enough to know when to cooperate or to start busting heads. If he has to take a life or make a tough choice, he can do it easily. He won’t be happy to have been forcibly recruited, but he will understand that working with LILITH is likely the easiest way to get him back home where he belongs, so he’ll help out.

DARKVISION: Winter can see in the dark (in shades of gray) up to a certain radius, thanks to his elven lineage.
SPELLCASTING/PACT MAGIC: As both a half-elf and a warlock, Winter has the ability to use magic. His spells range from pure offense to illusion to straight up mindfuckery (with affected player permission). For the bigger spells, he can only use so many before he needs to rest or wait until the next day. Some of these spells and abilities rely on a magic book given to him by his patron, so that will be coming with him.
TELEPATHY: He can speak telepathically to others, and as long as the creature is sentient and understands at least one language, they can understand him.
THOUGHT SHIELD: Winter’s mind is guarded against mindreading and psychic attacks. He is resistant to psychic damage and his thoughts can only be read if he allows it.
TENTACLE TATTOOS: The marks left on him when his patron saved his life are no ordinary tattoos. They move around his skin, and can lift free to become real, functioning tentacles, essentially giving him eight extra limbs. He's quite dextrous with them.
MIMICRY: Winter excels at passing himself off as another person. He can mimic the voices and sounds of other people or creatures near-perfectly, and often couples this with using magic to alter his appearance.
GENERAL THIEF STUFF: As a thief, Winter is good at moving silently, picking locks, gathering intel, reading lips, and other stealthy, sneaky things.

NERFED POWERS: N/A. After getting some clarification from the mod team, none of Winter’s spells and abilities fall into the categories of needing nerfs.
PERSONAL ITEM:
DAGGER OF WARNING: A magic dagger which warns Winter and any allies within a certain range of danger. Anyone in the dagger’s radius cannot be taken by surprise, and it will wake them if they are sleeping. The dagger cannot help someone who is incapacitated by anything other than (nonmagical) sleep.
